Reading Habits: turning an online newsletter into a print zine

I've been professionally reviewing and recommending books for over a decade. Reading Habits, the newsletter about books and life that I've carried from one platform to another, has been a consistent labor of love for me throughout that span. But I — like many — have become increasingly disillusioned about the state of media, technology... and the world in general.

We're at an inflection point & I think we're about to see extreme sects regarding tech — a mass exodus vs. integration at the most personal level. I hate that these are our choices, but I know which way I'm leaning. I'm mourning the internet the oligarchs destroyed—the connection, the creativity, the expansion of our worlds.

But I refuse to contribute to the expansion of AI, to let it steal my words just so tech bros can identify my voice as the machine's. I'm also worried about the loss of ephemera & physical records of our existence. I want to create—and leave behind—something material & mundane.

So I'm taking Reading Habits offline.

The former newsletter will now be a handwritten self-published zine sent to you monthly via the legendary USPS. Subscriptions are pay-what-you-can, with a suggested price of $5/month. Subscribe at Big Cartel.
